The European Society for Artificial Organs supports research and development in the field of artificial organs and related areas by giving different awards as recognition of excellent scientific work of researchers associated to ESAO.
The highest Award of Excellence is the Emil-Bücherl-Award given for lifelong contributions to the field of artificial organs and related areas.
The ESAO-Sage-Award is given for the best manuscript published/to be published in the International Journal for Artificial Organs in conjunction with the year of the ESAO congress and thus awarded annually
In recognition of the importance of Doctoral work in the field of Artificial Organs and related areas of tissue engineering and regenerative medicine, the board of governors announces annually a call for ESAO PhD Award for excellent PhD theses.
In addition, the European Society of Artificial Organs awards Prizes for the three best posters during the annual congresses as Poster Prizes.
